Honeymoon in Fiji in March?

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

Hey All,
There is some great info here and I'm really glad to have this resource, but I haven't found the exact answers i'm looking for. I'm planning on a honeymoon in March for about 2 weeks and right now i'm thinking about Fiji. We'd be looking for some great snorkeling, a little local culture, good food, relaxation... you get the idea. Is Fiji the right place for this? Any recommendations on where to go, dive, or stay? Thanks!

Just had 8 days at Matamanoa Island Resort and it was all the things you ask for.
Great snorkeling right off the beach and on the daily free snorkeling trips.
Local culture if you want it with a visit to the island where all the staff come from, good food, relaxation and a very friendly lot of fellow travellers when we were there.
No kids under 12 allowed.
Lots of honeymooners there, when we were there, from all around the world.
Great diving, my wife got her Padi open water, it was her first time diving at age 60.
All the tuition and dives were on a one on one basis, unfortunately the current Divemaster will be gone by next march but hopefully they will replace him and his wife with another great team.
Also stayed at Vomo Island Resort which also had great snorkeling, food etc but no Divemaster on the island at present.
Transfer to the island by Island Hoppers helicopter for a great view of the islands.
