Hello all I am fortunate enough that I will have 4 week honeymoon next year. We have decided to spend the majority of it in New Zealand for an activity filled start. We would then like to finish off with 6 days (9 with travel) somewhere sunny (or the future Mrs W12 will not be happy with me). We are looking for somewhere with good snorkelling, ideally somewhere we could access directly off the beach though that is more of a wish than a need. We would also like to stay on or just off the beach but not in a big hotel complex. Beach huts \ cottages would be ideal. We would prefer more basic accom in a quieter location than better accom in a busier / party like place. The only real things we need are basic clean accom, ability to snorkel, lounge / read on the beach. If there were dolphins near my by then wife would be delighted! We will be there mid-april. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance Al
Lonnoc Beach Bungalows, on Santo, Vanuatu come to mind. The Isle of Pines in New Caledonia is another stunning spot, but busier and kind of expensive. | 1
You should also check out the Cooks, consider staying near Muri Beach (SE) or near the village of Titikaveka (south side) of Rarotonga for decent snorkeling. Sorry, no dolphins. Start by reviewing the independent website www.ck and if you have Q's, come back here. Also, read the info attached to the initial FAQ post at the top of this LP TT destination section. Lots of great info on most of the places you might consider in the South Pacific. | 2
I was going to say Lonnoc Beach as well (I actually agree with you Laszlo!). Fantastic staff, good food and a quiet beautiful place. | 3
Thanks all for taking the time to reply, am looking into your suggestions as I write. Much appreciated. Lonnoc look sjust like what we were looking for bu we'll see what the cook islands have to offer. Al | 4
