Hi was looking for a budget to moderately priced number in Palau in November. Does anyone have any recommendations?
Which island? Koror? Palau is a vast archipelago. You could check out this website: http://www.visit-palau.com/placestostay/index.cfm | 1
Where you stay is also dependent on your activities. Koror makes it easy to go diving (though advanced divers can go from Peleliu), rock island excursions, and the like. Peleliu makes a nice two-day stay if you are interested in WWII history (stay at one of Mayumi's places, she is a fantastic cook. Don't be deterred when she claims she doesn't speak English. Ask to see her pet crocodile). To truly get away from it all (including internet and cars), go to Kayangel. There are two rooms to rent with electricity and flush toilets. They can be arranged (along with boat passage) at the Kayangel state office. There are beautiful beaches that you will have to yourself, and you can view the local's giant clams while snorkeling. | 2
