I will be in Tahiti the end of august for a week. A place I did book I heard was poor, so just wondered where I should stay.....not in the city, but near the ocean. Please help me. I will be spending a week there on my way back to Vancouver.
Are you looking to stay on the main island of Tahiti? If so, you could check out Relais Fenua - about 20 minutes outside Papeete and across the street from a beach area. It should be in your price range(70-75 Euros), has a nice pool and is near a bus stop. We thought it was good value and a decent place to stay but that was a number of years ago so check out the reviews on TA to see what people have to say about it now. | 1
Thank you for the info. I will check it out. | 2
I stayed at the Pension de la Plage in Punaauia and highly recommend it. Located about 6km south of the airport, they offer pickups for XPF 1000. Single rooms were 7900 and they were quite pleasant. There is a pool. They also offer all three meals at reasonable prices. Wifi is very cheap for this region and connections were good. It is a block inland from the beach and there are restaurants and a supermarket within walking distance. It is on the main circular road and you can take public transport to Papeete. My stay was also a few years ago so prices may have changed. | 3
