| benglen21:40 UTC20 Jun 2010 | Hello out there!
Does any one have any information on how to get to Carteret Island, north east of Bougainville Island, Papua New Guinea. I am a young English artist living and working in Berlin, I work for an international artist here and we are planning a project together that involves getting to this island to make a short film. Due to the rising sea levels this paradise island will in the near further disappear as its only one meter above sea level. We already have a lot of info about the area and have spoken to film makers who have been there. We know its not easy to get there as it's not inhabited anymore. If any one has some info about getting to the island or have been there it would be much appreciated. I hope with this film we can show if only just to a few people, just how fast these paradise islands are being swallowed by the rising seas.
Kind Regards

My friends from Ontong Java are similarly concerned about global warming. Theirs is reputed to be the largest atoll in the world.
