IDEAS PLEASE!

Im in need of a fantastic BEACH destination where i can celebrate my 40th with in December this year.
It needs to have awesome beaches & amazing local people. It also needs to be very affordable as i intend on going to Indo in Oct and work for Habbitat for Humanity.
Ideally, it wouldnt be TOO far away from my homeland of Australia (Qld). "Off the beaten track" is defo sort.....
Any ideas please??! Need to reseach and book soon!

Nowhere in the South Pacific is very affordable, especially compared to Indonesia, but Fiji and Tonga are probably the cheapest countries here.
But even these are only cheap if you are prepared to rough it in backpacker style bungalows - the nice resorts will cost you.
Having said that, the Yasawa Islands of Fiji have great beaches with a range of accommodation, while in Tonga Uoleva has beautiful beaches with basic accommodation and far fewer tourists.

Great beaches,local people and inexpensive. ...Indonesia ;-)

Why not try a different part of the country from where you are going to work?

Hundreds and hundreds of beautiful beaches in the Philippines and it can be as cheap as you want it to be.
