For a 'Bora Bora' equivalent in Fiji, check out Likuliku (www.likulikulagoon.com), they are expensive though! ... For mainland resort options, stay clear of Nadi/Denarau. These "beaches" are man made beaches built on swamp land so forget nice sand & crystal clear waters, instead you will get black sand & merky water (no jokes) and you will pay top dollar for it! Head to Coral Coast instead (about 1.5hr drive from Nadi)... Beaches have nice sand & blue water... My favourite resort on Coral Coast (and I've been to many) is Warwick... Not badly priced for 5* resort.. Accommodation is approx FJ$450 per night or all inclusive package (accommodation, 3 meals p/p & unlimited local beer/spirits) about FJ$770 per night... Kids under 12 eat free... It is a family resort, so lots of kids & the staff are great with kids... For more info check out their website www.warwickfijihotel.com... If you're after a more secluded island stay, I recommend Leleuvia (www.leleuvia.com). Bure accommodation is FJ$160 per night, compulsory meal plan is FJ$45 p/p... Only downfall is there's shared toilet & shower facilities (even with bures)... BUT the island is fantastic!! Water is crystal clear, white sand, very Fiji postcard... All non motorised water sports are free (very rare in Fiji!) stand up paddle board, snorkelling, kayaking... Other activities are the cheapest I have seen anywhere in Fiji! Charter fishing FJ$60 p/p, jet skiing $50 for 20 mins etc... Bit tricky to get to as this island is on the East of Fiji, so bit of travelling involved from Nadi, but such a perfect little island... Otherwise check out the Yasawas for island stays closer to Nadi... Good luck with your search! | 1 | |
