Interesting travel website

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

Travel maps I found this site while surfing for information about a part of Solomon Islands.
The standard of English, and the roundabout and rather misleading information had me confused until I realised it originates in New Delhi.
I particularly looked at Malaita in Solomon Islands, as I am very familiar with it, and was talking on the phone to someone there this evening.
It appear that the writer has had some contact, possibly with the former manager of the Auki Lodge, but he gives absolutely no useful information on how to get anywhere.
I wonder if he is like that for the rest of the Pacific?
(By the way, go to Trip Advisor for the most useful information on Auki Lodge (but you have to search for Auki, as it doesn't come up on the main list of hotels.)

The point of the site is to generate clicks on the Google ads. (I have google ads on my sites.) The best way to do that is not to provide a lot of information yourself (as I do), thus encouraging the visitor to click on the ads. The lightbulb over my head did not go on about that until a week ago. Someone who posts on another branch about traveling and living off the internet finally posted links to his sites. Iniatially I thought that they were terrible until I realized their brilliance.

Example: You want to go to France. You visit a site that you hope will provide you with information about France. It only states things that you already know. (Visit Paris, the city of lights.) But Google has generated an ad for Air France or the French National Tourist Office. You click on one of the ads to continue to search for useful information. The site owner gets paid by the click.

I"ve heard about this somewhere recently, but how do you subscribe to google ads? I am about to set up a charity (mainly to support education and women in Solomon Islands) and this could be a good money-spinner for it.
