Internet in Fiji

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

Hello!

I’m planning to stay a month to six weeks in Fiji, two weeks to a month in Rarotonga, but can only afford it so long as I can work while there, which requires internet access of fair speed once every 48 hours, high speed internet for a full day one day a week. Ideally I’d be able to connect via my own laptop that one day a week. The one day a week would be WED or THU, so technically I could get by with fair internet speed 6-7 days.

I’ve seen some posts that say finding a connection in Rarotonga is not so hard, so my inquiries are mainly to do with Fiji, in that I wonder which islands I can go to, and whether given my need for internet/budget you’d suggest I get a place to stay for a month on the main island and take day trips.

The particulars: I’d hope to spend between $3000-4500 USD (the lesser the better) over 2 months excluding airfare, I will mainly snorkel but am either looking into getting my diving license before I go or while in Fiji, and I enjoy hiking, biking and sea kayaking, so let me know of the islands in Fiji you’d recommend that have the vital internet I require.

Thanks so much!

It can be slow, depending on loads.

Cheers,
