Is it the same as US Virgin Islands?

I spent a year working aboard a sailboat registered out of St. Thomas. I had to do the W-2 form and all that. Is Micronesia the same as USVI as far as employment goes? All the chains of islands - Palau, Yap, Chuuk, ... are US territories. Thanks for the input!

No, Palau and the Federated States of Micronesia (Yap, Chuuk, Kosrae and Pohnpei) as well as the Marshall Islands are independent countries. They have been so for a while.

Guam and the Northern Marianas Islands are U.S. Territories.
