Is there a chill beach in Nadi? rock climbing?

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

Hola-
Im stoping in Fiji for two weeks. I need some recs. on a hostel or hotel thats super friendly, rock climbing apt., cheap, not in the tourist epi-center and close to a beach. I guess this is vague, but im not to up to the date on whats going on in Nadi. I like hostels that know how to have a good time, but also enjoy my sleep and books w/out Jack Johnson blaring at 4 am. Any ideas would be nice? Cheers everyone.

Honestly, what beach there is at Nadi, is bloody awful compared to Aussie Beaches.

You either need to head out to some outer islands for Chill and then not much in way of rock climbing, though quite a few peaks here and there if there's gear or you could just go mountain goating.

Other than that, The Beachouse with just one "h" might suit you.

Nadi is not where you want to be. I would only spend an afternoon there before you depart.

Head to the Mamanucas or Yasawa islands. The closest is called South Seas Island. It's a tiny island with a coral-covered beach. They get tourists during the day. You can spend the night in their hostel.

Another option is Nananu-i-ra. Expect a 2-3 hour bus ride from Nadi, then a 10 minute trip by boat. A few budget places have hostel accommodations, such as Betham's. The area has superb diving.
