Is there an air connection from Fiji to Tahiti without flying through Auckand ??

I'm setting up a tour of the south Pacific for this time next year, and want to see Vanuatu, Fiji, and French Polynesia. I cannot find any flights between the two ends of the south Pacific except by bouncing in Auckland, which is inefficient and expensive. Please, if anyone knows of a shorter air connection, let me in on the secret. Thanks in advance for any ideas. - Chick

As far as I know there is no direct flight from Fiji to FP. The only connections between the two, besides Auckland, is Sydney, Los Angeles and Honolulu - all of which are probably a longer connection. If you have not been before, Honolulu might be an option if you have the time to add a few days extra to your trip to have a look around there.
