Islands and Trips in Mamancuas Fiji

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

Hi

My partner and I are flying into Nadi in December and will be staying in Fiji for 6 days. I have done a little research but would really appreciate some advice regarding which island/islands to stay on. I think we will probably want to stick to the Mamancuas to avoid having to spend too much time travelling.

We would like to enjoy the beauty of Fiji, relax on the beach, go snorkelling, go for some walks etc.
We are also interested in meeting some locals and getting an idea of Fijian life and also possibly going on a boat trip, so any recommendations of good trips in the area would be greatly appreciated.

We are on a moderate budget of about £800-£1000 to include accommodation, transport, food and activities.

Thank you in advance for your kind advice.

Hi,
I have been to Fiji several times now and still love it. I would highly recommend the Mamanuca's. It is very beautiful there. There is a resort called Musket Cove which is great. There is also Plantation Resort (more for kids and families) and I believe there is a couple of others too. The trip out there is quick and easy so not too much traveling on the boat. You can also fly out there.

The locals there are all very friendly and helpful but I don't think that you would get the full experience of "Fijian Life" there. I'd say somewhere in Nadi you'd get that experience. Even go take a look at Denarau Island which is truely beautiful and expensive!

Best of luck and enjoy your trip.
