Kokoda Trail

Im interested in doing the kokoda trail sometime next year.

Can anyone out there who has done it before advise if this treak can be done solo or are guides essential? f doing it solo are there any dangers from other people?

If it must be done with a guide or tour group could you also advise aprox how much and if there are any ways of doing this journey in the cheapest possable way?

Hey Dinkum,... im interested in doing the kokoda trail solo too. I know its a little late to ask after four years but still any information you could provide would be greately appreciated. Im thinking of doing it solo, or maybe with a guide but I dont want to pay thousands. is there any way of doing it on a budget?

Am headed for Kokoda next week. and plan to do it Solo with perhaps getting a porter/guide to help find the way. has anyone successfully done this. Just rocked up and organized it? anyone interested in joining me?
