Kokoda Trail - Independent

Hi all,

Im off to PNG in August the Kokoda track. I am travelling independently, was wondering if there were any others out there planning a trip that would like to join myself and one other?

Also I am after more information on doing the trail independently. I would mind having a chat with someone who has recently completed the trek. If you are willing and available can you send me a private message with your prefered contact details.

I plan to to walk the Kokoda Track around August 10th. Am looking for anyone interested in splitting a guide and perhaps a porter and if all goes well may be even travel a week or so around the country together. My thoughts are to do the track in around 10 days (fairly flexible) I'm in Sydney Australia now and fly into Port Morsby on Aug 7. Please message me if you are interested.

I am currently searching for information on doing the Kokoda track together with my husband, father and local guide towards the end of October this year. I came across this thread and was wondering if you guys managed to do it last year and if you have any advice to share - where did you find a guide? How long did it take you (the track and the guide search)? How much did it cost? What did you do for food/accommodation?! Any information, contacts or links you can share would be greatly appreciated!!!
