Leluvia (or Leleuvia) Island, Fiji Great getawayCountry forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea
I just spent 5 nights on Leluvia Island with friends, and we loved it. Totally laid back, pacific island idyllic experience - small atoll (15 mins walk around), wonderful hospitality, a range of water toys including a small dive centre, all waterfront buries or even a dorm option, and also your meals along with a well supplied bar. I went to a friends 50th birthday party there - mega feast and band from Suva, no noise control officers, no driving home, and you get to spend a couple of days with old friends rather than just the evening. Large, comfortable sitting, dining, drinking area at the front of the island - useful meeting place and beautifully designed in traditional fiji architecture. It is affordable and so doesn't have all the fancy frills - take some munchies and snacks for the between meals, and a good book or two and a Sunday, a pair of toga, a sulu and tshiirt and light jacket - iPad if you must (wireless free and mobile coverage). Good snorkelling off the beach, and you can easily arrange boat trips further afield to go exploring other islands including Ovalau, and to dive great drop offs and a range of sea creatures . . . as well as deep sea fishing trips just a half hour (or less) boat ride away! Thank you Lee-Anne and Colin for such a great time and also a big bula and thanks to all the staff. Edited by: 9mango99
