May 09 Edition - Lonely Planet Tahiti & FP - BB Accommodations

I just received the new Lonely Planet Tahiti & French Polynesia/ 8th edition/ guide book and noticed several popular accommodations in Bora Bora omitted. Hotel Bora Bora and Eden Beach hotel for example. Does anyone have any information on these? With the economy and world travel down so much, would like some assurance a place will still be there several months after we book it. Any thoughts?

The HBB is closed for renovations, don't know about Eden Beach, the Club Med is closing/closed permanently.

Just glancing at the new LP I noticed that it offered very sparse coverage. I think some of their omissions have to do with not taking the time to visit many places.

I think you"re right. There are many areas in FP that were omitted. So much for getting the latest info on what's available. Is there a link to any local daily newspapers in FP?

That is SOP for most LP books-their authors are often pathetic arrogant devious wretched human beings.
