Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

Dear Friends,

I have been a bit negligent with my application to the Pacific Branch (and TT!) this past year.

Things happen - lives get busy with all kinds of other things, and unfortunately it's been one of those years for me. I hope to spend more time with you in 2009!

Anyway, thought I should call in briefly to offer you all my best wishes for Christmas and the holiday season - it's getting nice and warm down here in Oz, with 35 Degrees C forecast for tomorrow, and I have some sunburn on my shoulders from some yard work yesterday getting ready for Christmas.

I have a friend arriving from Moresby in early January - she will be studying in Melbourne - so I hope to catch-up with her a bit, and pick up on all the gossip from PNG!

To those of you freezing in the Nthrn Hemisphere winter - I know that this is a time when thoughts turn to those icing sugar beaches and the water in shades of blue that you can't imagine are possible 'til you see them for yourself!

Where ever you are, may Christmas and the New Year bring you the things that you dream of, the company of family and good friends, and joy in the thought that the world is still full of magical places and experiences waiting to be discovered.

Merry Christmas!

Rob

Thanks, Rob.

All the best to you and yours over the holiday season!

Happy Holidays to everyone!

2

I second (or is that fourth) the motion.

May all TTers have a happy and safe Christmas (and Hannukah) and a prosperous and well-travelled New Year.

3

best wishes to all the regulars and the new faces in the Pacific Branch.

4

Please add my best wishes for a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all the Pacific Branch posters out there. We are up to our knees in snow here in Southern Ontario and are so looking forward to our Palau trip in February.

5

Best wishes for a happy & safe Xmas to all from me too! Will post a trip report after our much longed for trip to Noumea & Lifou in March.

Add my best wishes for a Merry (and safe) Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone.

But I don't think I will be dreaming of a White Christmas again any tine soon, though. Unusually for this part of B.C (Lower Mainland), it's been snowing steadily for over a week, with sub zero temperatures, and the forecast is for it to keep doing so through Christmas morning. Which means my son and his girlfriend, visiting from Tokyo, might not be able to make it to my place for Christmas dinner tomorrow because they are snowed in (the steep hill from his place to the main road isn't cleared as it is considered a side road, and it's icing up). Us West Coast wimps just aren't used to this.
