Mid-October to mid-November in South Pacific

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

Supposedly the season ends in October. Has anyone been to the South Pacific in November? Especially interested in Tahiti or Fiji. Thanks

Don't necessarily believe all the generalisations. I haven't been to the countries you mention, but have spent numerous Christmases in Solomon Islands, and parts of it are better then than at other times of the year. Each country and each island has its own microclimate, so you have to check where you actually intend to go.

I've travelled accross the pacific most years in november and december, the first time in 97 a cyclone had just passed by to the north of Tahiti and it was wet and stormy when we arrived.

A few days after it cleared and it was fantastic weather for the next month, secveral years latter we arrived in samoa in the middle of a cyclone and it was a wash out, we left early to Hawaii.

In a ten year period those were the only two times we had bad weather at all, every other year it was nice and hot and dry.

The cyclones should be over by october but the occassional one's arrive late, I love that time of year in the south pacific.
