moving between south pacific countriesCountry forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea
hello! does anyone know what would be the cheapest way of moving between countries in the sp? I would like to go from papua new guinea to solomn islands and then some other islandcountries like fiji, vanuatu...boats, flights?any ideas?best regards!!!
Hei! Unless you have unlimited supplies of time, stamina and patience (and luck!) air travel is the only option. Vennlig hilsen | 1
I agree with the poster above. There is an "overland" route between PNG and Solomon Islands, via Bougainville, but it is neither cheap nor easy. There is no sea route between the other countries. | 2
Once a week on a Friday Air Niugini flies Port Moresby, Honiari, Nadi amd on Saturday Nadi, Honiara, Port Moresby. It's the only connection. www.bestofpng.com can help you with tickets and any arrangements you might need to make in PNG. | 3
Looks like Solomon Airlines is not operating between Port Moresby and Honiara at present. However, once you are in Honiara, you also can fly on Air Pacific or Air Vanuatu, to Vanuatu and Fiji. Tmtable here | 4
