Nadi to Suva early in the morning

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

Hi travelers,

Me and my wife are travelling to Fiji in couple of weeks and we stopped with small problem. The flights from Nadi to Taveuni have been sold out or at least the chipest ones and now we are wondering what would be the best idea to go from Nadi to Suva (there s a flight to Taveuni at 11:40). We would probably have to go really early and we would need the fastest and of course not really expencive transportation.

We are interested how much would we supose to pay for a taxi, how much a bus,...

All the ideas are most welcome.

Many thanks for all the advices.

I think a taxi is around 150 FJD for a car just for you, but of course it all depends on negotiating.
If you are in a hurry, I would not recommend a bus, all the more so as Suva's airport is also a long way from the city.

I remember taking a bus from Nadi to Suva and back, and honestly, if you can't fly, rent a car. Unless you don't mind sitting 4 hours on a bus that stops everywhere. I did it, 7 years ago, because I was going to spend 10 days in Fiji anyway, so I had no concerns about wasting 8 hours (round trip) of my holiday time.

Sunbeam list an express that departs Nadi at 4 am and arrives in Suva at 7.30am, but on Mondays ONLY.

WOW... are those the new buses they have in FJ now?
The one I took 7 years ago was roughly the same as what they call "chicken buses" in Central America.

Hi Alex.
I guess if you have a nice looking bus in your fleet, that is the one you will show on your web site. :-)
There are a few nice busses about, but I reckon you would still recognise the ones you saw 7 years ago too.

Cheers,
Peter
