Name of local canoe in Wallis&Futuna

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

Anyone knows the name of this local canoe from Futuna island?
Uploaded some pics but would like to have a bit more info in the describtion of the pic. Remember it had some special name, but forget it...
Thanks for any clues.

Not sure about Futuna, but in the Cooks, which also has a Polynesian language, a canoe is a "vaka". Does that sound familiar??

Yes, 'vaka' was all right, helped my lazy brain, helped to search around a bit. 'vaka kumete' is polynesian, vaà tanoa´ fidji, second one means cooking pot or something like that.
I remember my friend telling me that in Futuna those boats were used to cook stuff as well (earth ofen style).
Thanks!
