Need some help!!!

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

My husband and I have just booked on a cruise that stops one day in Papeete, one day in Moorea and one day in Bora Bora. Now I know this is not ideal and would love to be able to stay longer but we would really appreciate suggestions as to the best way to spend our one day in each of these places. We love snorkelling. We don't want to rush around the islands but if anyone could suggest their perfect day in each of these places, we would appreciate it. Thanks.

Hi,
We too had cruise stops in Papeete, Moorea and Bora-Bora a few months ago.
I'd highly recommend going to the CruiseCritic Web-site. Get 'Logged In' and get to the 'Boards' , then to your ship's specific 'Roll Call'. for your specific cruise. No snorkeling on Tahiti to speak of. We rented a car in Papeete and drove East to Tahiti-Iti then swam/body surfed and lazed on South Shore beach areas. Papeete proper is big-city traffic etc.
Bora-Bora and Moorea?? Definitely hop off the ship and get signed up at the pier with one of the 'Outrigger Canoes' for snorkeling and swimming with the Manta rays on BOTH islands. Or go with a larger group vessel that includes a 'beach picnic' and beer. Wear rugged amphibian beach shoes, the coral grit cuts like glass. Remember: CruiseCritic. Anything else?? Locomotiveman
