New Caledonia

Hey there. I am planning a 10 day trip around New Caledonia.

Now.. How to keep it cheap?

I am mostly concerned about accommodation and public transport!!!

Any tips welcome!

To keep it really cheap, you may have to stick to the Grande Terre, where cheap public transport (buses) get to you around much of the island.

For cheap accommodation, use the excellent hostel in Noumea, campsites around much of the island (especially the NE) and maybe the tribal homestays offered by the tourism office in Hienghiene.
