New Caledonia / Vanuatu - July

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

Hi,

I am palnning to have a holidy about a week in July, and thinking about New Caledonia / Vanuatu.
How is the weather like?
My travel guide says " during June-Ausust the temperature drops to 21c, and it's not the best time if you are hoping to laze around the beach..."
since I am pregnant now, I can't do much of the activities except for lazing around beaches and relaxing...
has anyone been to these pleaces in july or August?
can I still enjoy the sun, and swim?

Having been to New Caledonia in July, I found the weather almost perfect for active activities and not too cold for swimming. Camped, took a lightweight sleeping bag and wore shorts and a T shirt most of the time, a lightwieght jumper on rare occasion, and was comfortable the whole time. However I suffer badly in heat, and like temperatures a few degrees cooler than most people, It suited me fine.
