Nice, cheapish place to stay in Suva?Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea
Hello! I always like to book a place to stay before I arrive in a new country, and as I am arriving in Fiji next week, I wondered if anyone could recommend a nice, cheap-ish place to stay in Suva? I was recommended the South Seas but it is booked for the day I arrive! thanks! Anna
Maybe you'd better overnight in Nadi then book into the South Seas (one of my favourites, a bit weird at times but can be fun). About the cheapest places to stay in Nadi are the Kontiki Private Hotel (an $8 taxi from the airport), the Nadi Downtown Hotel (used to be the Nadi Backpackers but has been upgraded), or the San Bruno, down street from the temple. The San Bruno is a couple of dollars cheaper than both the Kontiki and the Nadi Downtown, but I haven't stayed there and have been told that the rooms aren't so nice. Don't expect 3* accommodation, but the Downtown has air con and a fan, TV and private bathrooms and lovely staff. There's also an inexpensive dorm. | 1
