OK to sleep at airport in Papette, Tahiti

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

Hi

I arrive in Tahiti around midnight and depart very early afterwards in 2 day times. (check-in, midnight the following night basically. Is the airport open 24hours and would it be possible to crash until the morning.

Some of the budget accomodation across the roasd from the airport might not be worth while.

thanks for the advice in advance

regards

wok

It was the last time I was in Papeete, albeit several years ago.

The first bus into town used to depart around 0500 hours.

You will be lucky to find good budget accommodation in Papeete, period.

I've done it, its not comfortable, but you can. Sleepinginairports.com Even if you find a budget place to stay, the transportation fees are so high, its very expensive. Expect to be on a concrete floor. I've had the same dilemna before. Have you looked into the new airport hotel?

You propose to spend 2 consecutive nights at the airport?
In Tahiti ?.............On holidays?

Are you nuts?

I wouldn't sleep in that airport for all the free croissants on the planet.
The only comfortable place is in the outbound flight area where there are couches.
When you get there, you will go through customs and will be in the outer area of the airport.
Nothing but hard chairs at night.

sunny regards,
