Here is a great article about Niue.

The visitors had a full-on 7 days but missed out on a lot. You need at least 14 days just to touch the surface.

Great report!

We stayed at the Coral Gardens Motel when we were on Niue. We loved it.

Yes, Stafford has come back with greater enthusiasm and Coral Gardens is looking better than ever. Had a set back with a Samoan boy racer smashing into one of the units. He died and pushed the building off its foundations.

When I get depressed I go and talk to Stafford and he says that we are priviledged to witness a society in the advanced stages of collapse. Embrace it.

Very funny! At least from afar. Stafford has a desert-dry sense of humor.

Before our flight from Nuku Alofa to Niue (Tells you how long ago it was), we met a Niuean and his family in the airport. He said he would be the last the leave and switch off the lights. :-) I don't remember his longish Polynesian name, but I always wonder whether he still lives in Niue. He was (still is?) a member of parliament.

Have you guys installed modern windmills and solar cells for energy? I saw the solar cells on the French islands, probably paid for by France. There are now sleek small windmills that can be more easily transported and installed. I believe I saw those in French Polynesia as well.
