online bank account access suspended

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

Hi there,

I am sorry if that does not belong in this forum, but I would like to know of anyone who had to solve a similar issue (maybe in a different country).

Although it is not really about travel, this case concerns Australia and Aussies. I used to live there, but now i have been for some time back in Europe. Recently, after a long time, I have tried to access my bank savings account, which I set up in Sydney back then, via a bank's website, but the system informed me my bank access was suspended. Upon this I immediately contacted bank's customer hotline; however, I did not pass the identity / security test, because at that time I did not know all the required information, for example access code, branch name and address (although later after finishing the call, I found the info).

Since I live in Europe, I cannot readily solve this issue in person. Do you think it will a pain in the neck to reactivate my online access from overseas? The representative that i caught at then end of business hours told me to call on Monday, yet I feel frantic...

Thank you in advance,

opss wrong thread, i can see any delete options here, sorry

I wouldn't be too stressed about it... If you haven't logged in for sometime then they might have just deactivated your online access due to inactivity... I would call them back on Monday with the info they need... Good luck!!

That should be easy to fix. You just need to deposit a few dollars, or take out a few once every five or six months to keep the account from being deactivated.
