Ono-Ono catamaran/ferry

Hi Thorn Tree folks and Happy New Year!

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the Tahiti Ono-Ono catamaran/ferry (not sure exactly what kind of boat it is) is still running in Tahiti? The Lonely Planet website says it does, and I've seen references to it elsewhere, but I heard a rumour it's not been in service for three years.

Any information would be much appreciated.

It was not in service when we were there in 2006. I would suggest you ask the forum at www.tahiti-explorer.com as they have some locals on the board and also posters who travel to the islands often. They should have the latest information.
