Options for Liveaboards in Palau

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

Hi All,

I am researching Liveaboards for Palau during October.

I will be traveling solo, and have preferred "Budget" options in the past. It would be about 5 days of diving. I don't need luxury accommodations, with my primary criteria being:

  • Qualified and Service-Oriented Divemasters
  • Safe and Newer Equipment (I will be renting dive gear)
  • Good Value

Can you provide recommendations for dive centers that I can contact for latest pricing and availability?

Many Thanks in advance!

If you haven't already done so, I would suggest you also post this on the Diving/Snorkeling Board - I recall seeing some similar questions awhile ago - a number of the posters there have been diving in Palau.

I stayed at Sea Passion in Korror (in April) and it was pretty good. It is right near Sam's Tours a big PADI dive shop. I found they were really good to dive with and the diving we did was fantastic. Some of the best diving I have done (I have done about 100 dives). The boats are pretty good and the staff we dived with were good and new the locations well (but we did have a slightly poor planned night dive but everything else went smoothly). I didn't hire gear but it looked to be in good order. Check the torches though as the batteries my torch went flat and I borrowed one of theirs which then flooded (other people were also using their torches and they worked fine).

I can't help you with liveaboard options though as I never researched that. Also I was with a group but I think Sam's could still be a good option for solo travelers. Good luck planning your trip you will love the diving there.
