Oro Bay to Lae and Black Cat Track

I'd like to visit a few places along the Huon Gulf Coast such as Labu Tali, Black Cat Track and Kamiali Wildlife Centre. I understand the Lonely Planet that I have is fairly dated (8th Edition) so I'm hunting for any up-to-date info/tips for travelling the area. Specifically, I am coming from Oro Bay but I'm thinking that it might be easier to travel from Oro Bay directly to Lae, then make my way south along the coast.

I've tried looking up the Morobe Tourism Bureau but it seems to have finished up. I will try contacting the VDT and update this thread with any successful communication. But if anyone has been through this area in the past year or so I'd love to hear of your experiences and recommendations. Good or bad. Thanks!
