Any recommendations for travel literature in the pacific?

I am looking for general pacific travel rather than writing on specific places, which seems to be pretty slim pickings.

I have read Paul Theroux's Happy Isles, and Miles Hordern's Voyaging the Pacific.....something along these lines would be great

There are two good reads by Gavin Young, Slow Boats to China (self-explanatory) and Slow Boats Home. The latter is an account of the journey from China through the Far East, the South Pacific, and around Cape Horn.

Just remembered these:

Kim Gravelle - Romancing the Islands
Michael Moran - Beyond the Coral Sea
Tony Horwitz - Blue Latitudes
Ronnie Knox Mawer - Tales from a Palm Court

If you can get a hold of a copy, Tom Neale's "An Island To Oneself" is a great read. Don Silk's "Kuri Trees To Sunlit Seas"

Contact the Bounty Bookshop in Rarotonga, they can probably give you a good list, and you can buy from them I think. Ron Crocombe's "The South Pacific" is a good modern-day read on what the countries are really like, no tourist fluff.

Go to www.ck , you can probably find a link to Bounty Bookshop. Ask for Brian Chitty.

Graeme Lay - the miss tutti frutti contest is another one covering more than one country.
