Pacific Islands with a baby

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

Hi, im planning a trip to one of pacific islands for October, but I'm having difficulty deciding which one.
We have 10 days to spend, and are looking at a midrange budget. We are considering either Vanuatu or New Caledonia because they're relatively close to Australia.

We also have an 8 month old baby. We dont want to spend the whole time on the beach, and we're looking for easy day trips and sights to explore.

Has anyone travelled to either of these places with a baby, and do you have any advice/recommendations?

Thanks!!

I haven't taken a baby along but can still tell with confidentality that New Caledonia is the better choice.
It is more developed, cleaner, healthier.
It also offers far more to see and explore right on its main island than Vanuatu.

That's a good point as well, keeping things to one island is definitely a plus
