I have checked flight prices but i am sure there is cheaper way of visiting these islands. Has anyone heard about ferries or cargo ships

Good luck.
You may be sure, but you are still wrong.
There are no ferries between those countries, and the few cargo ships that accept passengers charge more than it would cost to fly - not to mention money spent while waiting for your ship to come by.
A Oneworld Explorer RTW ticket is a common way to visit these island on a RTW tour, and it is the only RTW ticket to include the NZ-Tahiti-Easter leg.
If RTW tickets don't appeal, you will have to buy oneway ones. These would be much cheaper if you ditched eastern Polynesia and visited only the SW Pacific.

First thank you for your contribution, you give really good tips! I am planning to go to discover the Pacific from november onwards and was wondering what is the best itinerary with the RTW ticket for 3 months (including parts of Indonesia and New Zealand perhaps). Will be traveling alone, backpacking style, staying at hostels, campings but would like to get out a bit from the tourist crowd as well.
Do you have any suggestions?

Amugy meg lenne sok kerdesem, de nem tudok neked privatban irni. Kepzeld, csaladom is Budapesten el, kicsi a vilag :)

Irj ide !

Amilyen kevesen utaznak honfitarsaihk kozul Oceaniaba, az majdnem olyan, mintha privatban irnal. ;-)

Mind you, 3 months is an awfully short time for a RTW trip!

You suggested a RTW ticket, so I thought you can travel 3 months in the Pacific using that. Might be not the case, I am searching for a good alternative to just take some one-way flights, which will cost a lot because I am planning to visit a few islands.
