Palau Practical Costs

Hey!

Planning a short vacay to Palau in about 3 weeks & finding info on basic costs have been difficult. Fully aware that Palau is pricey but still trying to do it on a budget.Such as, would it be cheaper to buy booze from duty free on the way in, or wait & get the local rum (?). Any info about average food & alcohol costs would be appreciated!!!

Also, we'd like to spend a day relaxing on a beach. I know you can use a resort beach but it seems pricey & kinda boring. it seems possible that you can hire a boat to be dropped off & picked up on a deserted island for a day? any idea of costs for that?
