Papua New Guinea tour operator

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

Hi All,

Could anyone recommend a good, reliable tour operator for Papua New Guinea for two girls from the UK?
Any suggestions of what not-to-miss, must-see, be-careful about etc etc in general would also be appreciated....

Many thanks in advance
Marta

I work in Port Moresby so i'm not sure if there are any tour operators that do anything other than the Kokoda track tours.
Can't help there.
I would stay away from Lae, Madang, Wewak as these areas (although beautiful) have had issues with security, especially for young white females.
The Islands New Britain and New Ireland are pretty safe as is Milne Bay province.

Air Nuigini and Airlines of PNG have packages that you can buy that transort you from POM to various holiday resorts and include accomodation and meals.

Some great diving at Tufi and a fantastic fishing at Alotau. Driftwood is a small resort in Alotau that can take you on local tours and off the coast for fishing and/or snorkling.

Not much to see in POM other than the start of the track and a few water falls.

Good luck

Try www.bestofpng.com, They organise diving, treks up Mt Wilhem, village guesthouse stays on the coast, festival visits and are based in Europe.

Hi,

I am one of 4 travelling to the Sepik for the Crocodile festival in August. We plan to stay at Ambunti Lodge in Ambunti. They have guides there. Contact Valentine: 76368508 area code 675, Landline 8585151. Will be travelling down the Sepik afterwards, and then on to Mnt Hagen festival.
