This board is great!

Ok, we are going on our honeymoon for 9 nights, here's how it looks:;

Day 1, land in Nadi, jump on plane to Savusavu
Day1-4 Koro Sun Resort Vanua Levu. Here i want to:
-Scuba dive- hoping to to over to taveuni and dive the straights!
-hike!
-find waterfalls, etc...
-kayak!
Day 5- fly back to Nadi
Day 5- overnight in Nadi
Day 6- boat to Octopus
Day 6-9- Octopus resort. Here i want to:
-Dive
-kayak
-snorke
-of course relax!
-possible cruise to check out other areas...blue lagoon?

for such a short trip these 2 places seem best. looks like we'll get to spend half the time in an area we can hike, see the hills, etc.....then half the time on the "beach" :) Looks like this would give us the best of fiji in such a short time!

any advice, contacts, anything would help.

also, one big questions......octopus or blue lagoon? we are young and looking to relax but want to party a little..........which would you do if you had to choose? we have octopus booked but can switch if ya'll say it's best...thanks so much!

Octopus isn't really a "party" place, but then neither is blue lagoon. That said , of the 2 Octopus has more entertainment and would be a good choice for a honeymoon.

I second the above post - Octopus would have more entertainment, but don't expect a big party. If you want to party, go to Beachcomber, just dont stay for more than a night! Blue lagoon seems more intimate and romantic, but less to do (which is exactly why we chose it for our honeymoon!) Can't really go wrong on either though.

just thought i would ask another question.

i just got an earlier flight back to Nadi so will not have to spend 1 night before going to octopus, can go a day early now! that being said i'm thinking 3 days at octopus and 2 days somewhere else in the yasawas.....where would you spend that time?

blue lagoon?

just looking for some advice...thanks!

yes blue lagoon is a good choice for the great beach or maybe manta ray for acess to the mantas

it will depend on when you re-land in Nadi as to what limited options youll have to sail up to Octopus on the same day, the Yellow boat that does a 4 hour am northern run leaves about 8.30ish am, then comes back from up top starting about 1.30ish pm, Octopus run a private boat up and back but I think youll find it runs similar times, they were running a chopper also but obviously it wasn't cheap. once on Octopus you could jump on the northern bound boat for the sector trip up to your next stop, I've stayed at Oarsmans and it was great, quiet and has the best beach up that way. Many places though are run on real tight budgets due to the ongoing governmental coup. an alt would be go somewhere in the Mamanukas that you are able to get to on your first afternoon, then sctor transit up the next day to Octopus. enjoy!
