PNG New Ireland Province

Hi,

I'm thinking of flying into Kavieng then catching PMVs down the coast and then a boat out to the Tabar Islands. Its a surfing trip with a bit of jungle trekking/village culture on the side.There will be 2 of us and we'll probably have about 3 weeks including a night in Port Moresby on the way in/out for transfers.

Does anyone know the cost and availability ov PMVs and Boats(boats from the Konos area to/&within the Tabar Islands)?

Has anyone stayed at A'Di guest house on Tatau Island?

Is there usually still swell in April or is it likely to be flat?

and can anyone recommend cheap homestays along the northeast coast of the main island in the New Ireland Province?

Also any other info on good places to go in this area would also be much appreciated.
We've never been to PNG before but are used to travel in 3rd world countries in S.America and Indonesia and don't mind roughing it to save a few kina.

I've been to Tatau and saw no surfable waves there.
The guesthouse was there, but I stayed with locals.
Was lucky enough to catch a shared boat-ride there the day after arriving in Konos, so dunno about charter costs.

There are several guesthouses on the NE coast of New Ireland, all costing ca. 50 Kina.
