Popondetta-Where To Stay

Going to Popondetta, PNG in May of 2010 for a month of sightseeing ... can anyone recommend some quality lodging in Popondetta or as near Popondetta as possible? Preferably with a restaurant and bar. Will be traveling with 6-8 people ...

Too late now for your trip, but in future, the Comfort Inn in Popondetta is the best that there is. Generally clean, gardens are beautiful, and when the town hasn't been cut off by bridge washouts there is reasonably good food. When they have the flour and cheese, the hotel pizza is amazingly good.... and the family size really IS big enough to feed a family! There is a restaurant and a bar. By Australian standards I would say the hotel accommodation is about 2 star. The gardens are beautiful. HOwever, not a safe town to walk around in after dark.
