prebook accommodation necessary?Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea
Hi there! We are travelling to Samoa in September and were wondering if it is really necessary to prebook all our accommodation for the whole time we will be there? Since we arrive in the middle of the night I like the idea of booking the first couple of nights in Apia but then want to be flexible. Is it possible to find a bed/fale at a cheapish place for the next day, especially with the Survivor filming being on? Everybody seems to accurately plan and prebook everything in advance...
The Survivor filming mostly happens in one corner of one island. Cheap, basic fales are kind of scattered all over the islands, in numbers way over actual demand. You may need to book for some more popular places, but if you are not too picky, finding a place somewhere should be no problem. | 1
Survivor affects only the most expensive places to stay (Aggie' Resort, Le Vasa, Iliili Resort) and some car rentals (Discovery). That's it. Guard well your valuables wherever you stay (in Samoa or elsewhere, cheapies and other places alike). The content of the link given by #1 is quite outdated by now but it certainly still makes much sense to be careful. Dogs might be a problem around the Hidden Garden place (one of the cheapies). Enjoy. | 2
Thanks you 2 for your comment! That is good to know :-) Cheers. | 3
