rarotonga,cook islands

i'm in the cook islands now and nearing the end of my year long trip round-the-world trip. Rarotonga is great but do NOT stay at Tiare Village.
The place is filthy and loaded with bugs. I stayed there one night then moved to Are Renga which was slightly cheaper and very clean.

Tiare Village must have really changed in 2 years. When I stayed there in February/March of 2005, it was a fine place.

Since the original owner Mary died the place has declined, I was there 2 years ago and highly strung lady seemed to be in charge who was very opinionated.

The main building bedrooms seemed a bit rundown but passible, the previous time I stayed was several years ago when mary ran it and it was ok then.
