Rarotonga- please help!

So on a whim I decided to have a stopover in Rarotonga (Cook Islands) after finishing my New Zealand Trip. I will be there for about 4 days in May. I am a 29 year old female that will be travelling solo. I did not do any proper research before booking my flight (dumb me), and have no idea what to do/where to stay/how expensive it ist/if it's safe for me etc.

any ideas? please help!

Also if anyone will be there in that time period (may 11-14) would you be interested in travelling together to split costs?
