Reaching Tuvalu from Europe?

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

Hi,

I have this question: What are the options to reach Tuvalu?
Any ideas for the best air route from Europe?
I only found flights from the Fiji islands.

The only flights are from Fiji, so you must fly there first.
It is certainly easiest to buy a through a flight on Fiji Airways, though if you try, you might save some cash by flying Scoot to Singapore and on to Australia, then Jetstar to Fiji.

Thanks Laszio,

That was my suspition.
I did flied Scoot from Osaka to Singapore this year. It was fine albeit there are no TV or meals included.
BTW they have the world record for the longest low cost air route on the planet - that is Singapore to Berlin non stop.

The less expensive route to Tuvalu probably will be:
Berlin - Singapore - Sydney - Nadi (Fiji) - Funafuti (Tuvalu)

I'll try to dig something from New Zeland maybe...

Fiji Airways does/did offer decent RT fares from Singapore to Fiji though so do check them, too.
They may even be cheaper if combined with the onward flight to Tuvalu.

Fiji Airways connect to Singapore, HK, Tokyo, San Fran and LA. A far more adventurous, and costly, route would be to LA and then take the United Airlines Island Hopper flight through to Majuro or Pohnpei, catch an Air Nuaru flight down to Kiribati and then an Air Kiribati flight to Tuvalu. It is doable and connections leave within a day or 2 from each island.
