Realistic budget - Honeymoon in Fiji

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

I was wondering if anyone can gave me a realistic budget for Fiji?

We are thinking of going for 2 weeks as part of our honeymoon (away for 4 months in total) and will just be trying to do it on a budget so no luxury hotels or anything! We want to head to the islands rather than staying on the mainland.

We were thinking about £60 per day between us to cover accommodation, food and any sightseeing (although I imagaine we'll be lazing on the beach for a lot of the time) and want to know whether this is realistic?

Any advice would be much appreciated.
Claire

Not easy for me to do conversions (from your currency to my currency - the Euro - then to Fiji dollar - and add inflation to it all). I was traveling solo, and I also don't know what you might be able to save on doubles accom vs. what I was paying single. Rough guess: your daily budget is possible, not unrealistic but it might close to the minimum you'd need.

Try do do some research on current resort/island prices. Going just about anywhere other than the Yasawas will likely mean lower prices. Have a look at Ovalau and the island resorts of Caqalai and Leleuvia.

Buy your own snorkel and mask. Over 2 weeks it'll be cheaper than renting.
