Recommendations for visiting Pacific islands with toddlers

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

We are planning to visit one of the Islands in Sept/Oct using up air points. This is the first trip we will have taken with our daughter who will be 18 months by then. We live in auckland and have visited a fair few of the islands before but would appreciate any tips, advice or recommendations as we introduce our little one to the joy of travel.

Cheers

Saw 2 couples with toddlers at Oarsmans Bay Resort in Fiji Yasawas. The toddlers were swooped up and loved by the women staff at the resort. The kids looked pretty happy with it all and mum and dad could relax a little with the other guests, while still watching bubs being carried around. Don't think they have any official babysitting, but it's just a very relaxed friendly resort. Bures were not luxury, but kept nice and clean. Beach is sensational.

Thanks for that, we are hoping for that relaxed feel so might be worth considering.

Bring water wings- those inflatable rings that go around the top of a child's arms. My kids spent all their time in the water- in lagoons and in pools. The water wings were wonderful, and you can't always find them.
