Samoa in Feb with 2 young kids in a Fale - have you stayed at litia sini's?

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea

Hello,
We are taking our 3 1/2yr old and 4mth old baby to Samoa in Feb for 3 weeks. It's our first overseas trip with kids altho we have travelled a lot as a couple. We're mixing hotels (aggie greys aggie greys beach resort) with some fale accommodation. The hotels are for mum dad to get a break and to ease the kids into it but I also want my 3 1/2 yr old to experience 'travelling' rather than resort holiday travelling if you know what I mean. I've booked a family fale at Litia Sini's for 9 nights in the middle and was wondering if anyone has stayed there with kids before? I've heard that you have to cross the road to get to toilets and that there are a lot of stray dogs which could be dangerous for young kids. Were there many families staying when you were there? I would love our daughter to have some playmates, I'm hoping it's not a coupleish honeymoon type of place. Is it possible to do excursions from Litia's?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Litia Sini's is probably the best place to stay with your family. It's off season, so don't expect it to be too busy with guests. A variety of people stay here from backpackers to seniors to families with kids.

Nine days is a long time in one spot in Samoa.

Dogs are not a problem at Lalomanu Beach.

Yes, the toilets/showers are across the road.

I am not sure if you can do excursions from Litia's, but it seems most places in Samoa can arrange something if the price is right. You may wish to do your touring whilst in Apia... Much easier to arrange.

we will be in samoa in feb, we are hoping to stay at litia sini from the 10 to the 15 of feb we also will be traveling with our two year old son ,we wanted to stay at coconuts beach resort for a couple of nights but noticed no children under three were allowed as is the case for most of the other accommodation that we have looked into thus far. can you suggest anywhere. i was also wondering, i noticed you said you were staying at aggie greys with your children but we were looking at there website and they said that children could only stay in a certain section, do you know what the sections are and what the accommodation is like.thankyou, your feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Hello
I also had a lot of trouble finding a hotel that allowed children. I wasn't aware that Aggie Greys only allowed kids in one section, I'll ask my travel agent about it and post another reply. We're staying at Aggie Greys in Apia in a family room, then Litia Sinis in a family fale, then Aggie Greys beach resort. I think the fale type accommodation is a lot more family friendly than the big resorts.
