samoa sightseeing

hai there! me and my girlfriend will be in samoa at the beginning of august,we heard that you can visit many sights along the coast in upulo and savaii by local bus but what about the inland sights(waterfalls,volcanoes)can you get there by local bus?and if not is there some sort of touroperator that does daytrips around upulo and savaii?we heard that green turtle tours doesent exist anymore,so all info on this matter would be great!thanx peter and elly

Most of the sights are fairly close to the road anyway but you would not want to get off the bus to view the sights and then wait for the next bus as you could be there for some time.
We usually just hire a taxi for the day, they are cheap and you can negotiate a good daily rate, have spent as low as 80 tala for the days hire.
May be a bit more now as no doubt petrol has gone up there as well.
