| jm_hpsauce12:11 UTC08 May 2007 | Hi
I'm sure this would've been discussed in earlier threads, and I've looked through quite a few, but was wondering if anyone else had some advice/thoughts on diving locations in Samoa/Fiji.
I will want to snorkel also and I'm a pretty active person but have never dived. I was wondering what sort of options were available to me.
I leave in early June and I have 2 and a half weeks in Samoa and 11 days in Fiji so have the time to go the proper PADI certification if that's the way to go also. I'm really excited about doing this as I've done loads in all of my previous travels but have yet to do any diving!!
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

For those that are set in getting their certification it is usually best to try and do this before you go on holiday. That way you get to enjoy your diving a lot more (while on holiday), without having to try and learn a whole bunch of new skills. It is generally healthier for the reefs too rather than having beginners banging and hanging off of coral. Learning bouyancy and not damaging the environment while diving is a skill in itself that takes some time. I hope you enjoy your diving.
