Santo & Port Vila Suggestions

We have 2 weeks in Vanuatu and are planning to stay in mostly mid-range places on Santo & Port Vila. We hope to see as much local culture as possible, the natural beauty of the country and love snorkelling; here's our itinierary so far - 4 nights Lonnoc Beach Bungalows (Santo), 2 nights at Beachfront Resort, Luganville, then 4 nights at Bethels and around that area. Any other suggestions or change of time allocations?

I heard you can get a free ferry over to Aore Island if you buy lunch at the resort. We hope to do some snorkelling on the reef there too, is this possible on a day trip? Would love to stay there but it's a bit over our budget.
